Kids' Church

Back in 1998, College Park Church began an outreach program on the near east side of Indy in the Brookside Community. The facts surrounding the Brookside Community at first glance are alarming: 20% of all police calls in Indianapolis come from the Brookside neighborhood, 20% of the residents live below the national poverty line, 52% of those living in poverty in our community are children, and more.

The need is not about statistics, it is about souls. The Lord has filled our hearts with the compassion of Jesus to have intentional relationships in a marginalized and often forgotten community. The purpose was to reach the children in the inner city with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

In 2008, Cory Johnson came on staff with College Park to lead the Kids' Church ministry, and from that ministry, Nehemiah Bible Church was birthed. Pastor Cory now serves as the Senior Pastor at Nehemiah Bible Church. and now, Elder Corey Blade leads the Kids Church Ministry.

At this point in time, we have adults attending Nehemiah and serving as Leaders in Kids Church who started out themselves as children in the Kids' Church Ministry. We give all glory to God who has and continues to call souls out of darkness and into His marvelous light. Our prayer is to continue this legacy as we reach the Brookside Community youth and their families with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Kids Church proclaims the truth of the Gospel to youth and their families through Christ-centered outreach that each may have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and impact their communities for the Kingdom of God!

As we continue the Kids' Church program, please pray...

1. For the kids who will be attending. Pray that their hearts would be open to the Gospel of grace and that each one would come to know Jesus as Savior and Lord.
2. For kids to come join us each week. Pray that the Lord would move in the hearts of parents and kids so that they would want to come and love to come to Kids' Church.
3. For leaders. Pray that each time we meet, our leaders would be filled with the Spirit. Pray that they would have wisdom and insight and would love the kids well.
4. For the Lord to raise up more leaders. We could always use more volunteers to love on the kids of the Brookside neighborhood.
